MESSAGE FROM MAYOR DESTEFANO
September 16, 2020
CONSTRUCTION PARKING PLAN – As we move to a new phase of parking lot and sidewalk construction, parking in the center of downtown is at a premium. We must address the needs of merchants, employee’s, tenants and visitors to our center city during this transition.
The city has implemented the short-term parking plan below. We will monitor it daily to make any necessary adjustments as we continue with construction. We recognize that each impacted group has their own specific needs as it relates to the public parking lots. The city is in the process of developing a long term Parking Management Plan that will address this problem as this project nears completion.
In the meantime, we apologize for the inconvenience that it will create for you. Reconstructing drainage systems, parking lots, new sidewalks, new lighting and so much more requires some inconvenience. The rewards will be tremendous.
Remember, as construction progresses in one area and comes to completion in another, we will adjust these parking guidelines. We would appreciate your feedback on both the long and short term parking needs as they relate to you, your business, employee’s and downtown residential tenants. Please forward by email to mayor@middletown-ny.com.
Parking guidelines and maps are available on the City of Middletown social media pages and our web site.
