The Community Policing Unit, formerly the Juvenile Aid Bureau and Crime Prevention Unit, is made up of a Sergeant, a Detective, Neighborhood Enhancement Officers, a Too Good For Drugs Program Coordinator, and a bike patrol officer during the warmer months. The Community Policing Unit is responsible for the investigation of crimes committed by juveniles as well as providing information to parents in regard to different avenues that can be explored for a positive outcome with a troubled child. The City of Middletown Police Department is committed to the development and implementation of programs designed to reach out to the youth of the community and establish positive relationships, and to prevent and control juvenile delinquency and other behavior that impacts the quality of life in our community.
