Housing Rehabilitation Program

Since 1967 the City of Middletown has assisted homeowners in rehabilitating their homes and rental properties.

Grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development have aided in the restoration of over 1000 units over the life of the program by providing homeowners with grants and loans to improve their homes.

The objective of the Housing Assistance Program is to address the decline and deterioration of housing stock in the City of Middletown.

This effort is directed to meet the following specific objectives:

  1. Revitalize older neighborhoods.
  2. Stimulate reinvestment by property owners in their neighborhoods.
  3. Expand financial resources available for rehabilitation through a partnership of the public and private sector.

A new round of funding is available for qualified homeowners and landlords.

Applications are available in the Office of Economic and Community Development located at 16 James Street, 3rd Floor, Middletown, NY 10940
