Summer Playgrounds From June 29, 2009 through August 7, 2009 there will be ten (10) staffed summer playground programs at the following locations:

- David Moore Heights
- Fancher-Davidge Park
- Jerome W. Neil Park
- Maple Hill Park
- Sproat Street Park
- Thrall Park
- Ben & Paula Amchir Park
The program days and hours are Monday - Friday; 10:00am - 3:00pm. Exciting summer fun for all youths. Something new every day; sports, arts and crafts, special events and much more. There is no fee required for these programs and no attendance is taken.

Free Summer Lunch Program Beginning Monday, June 29, 2009, lunches on Mondays through Fridays will be handed out at 9 local playgrounds:
- 11:20am -- Academy Avenue Park
- 11:30am -- David Moore Heights
- 11:35am -- Bennett Hill Park
- 11:45am -- Maple Hill Park
- 11:55am -- Fancher-Davidge Park
- 12:05pm -- Jerome Neil Park
- 12:10pm -- Thrall Park
- 12:15pm -- Sproat Street Park
- 12:20pm -- Beattie Hill Park
Lunches will be given to anyone under the age of 18. Lunches must be eaten in the park. Food is not allowed to leave the park. Lunches will be delivered until Friday, August 7, 2009 at the times above.
Funds provided by NYS Office of Children and Family Services through the Orange County Youth Bureau. The Lunch Program is conducted by the Middletown Recreation Commission and the Enlarged City School District of Middletown.
Bookmobile Co-sponsored by the Middletown Recreation Commission and the Enlarged City School District of Middletown, young people will be able to select books at either the elementary or middle school level. Follow the schedule below for your nationally award winning "Bookmobile." Story Hour is at 11:00am & 2:00pm daily. - Mondays
